The website has a number of videos on the racing as well.  Conditions were extremely variable and challenging to all competitors, very different to those we normally enjoy here.

On behalf of all our clubs, congratulations go to Peter Morris and Greg Torpy who were the highest placing Queenslanders this year.

Peter finished a respectable 6th in the highly competitive A Class and Greg, although just out of the placings, was the most successful Queensland sailor in each of the other three classes.  Looking at the results, gear failure looks to have been a problem for both sailors.

Congratulations also go to the rest of the Queensland contingent for making what is a huge effort to prepare and travel to the event.  We are all looking forward to hearing more reports from you on the event when you return!

Tweed Seniors Week and Radio Sailing

It is always good to see when Radio Sailors extend themselves into the Community to offer people a rewarding sport to take on.
Gary Choveaux the Secretary of Twin Towns Radio Yacht Club sent us the following.  Well done and congratulations to TTRYC for making the effort, we should be doing a lot more of this.

"Twin Towns Radio Yacht Club is continuing to participate in the Tweed Seniors Week Festival by club volunteers providing an opportunity for seniors to try their hand at sailing members radio controlled yachts at their usual sailing venue on Lake Kimberley at Banora Point.

The date for our activity within the Festival is Thursday 12th April between 10.00am and 1.00pm.
Experienced sailors will make themselves available to guide participating  seniors about general rules associated with sailing and to help them learn, on a one to one basis, how to control the movement of a radio controlled craft under sail.
The TTRYC has been participating in the Seniors Week for several years and the activity has generally been successful in gaining interest in our sport within the community which is certainly encouraging as we have gained a few members along the way as a result."
Anyone interested please contact Gary for more information.
