DF65 Interclub RD1 2024

Redlands Radio Sailing Club was the host for this first Association DF event of the year.

We had 4 clubs represented for the first time Redlands, Paradise, Springfield, and Sunshine Coast. The event has been expanded this year to include SCRSC to accommodate the expansion and the growing  popularity and the DF class within our state .

This year with the inclusion of the extra club, teams of 5 boats represented their club with all boats competing  scoring points toward their clubs end result.

The full field of 20 boats saw the competitors greeted with a hot humid day. With a 5-10 Knot northerly breeze somewhat variable , made the conditions very difficult on the water at times.

The event was sailed in the usual friendly competitive manner for what DF sailing encourages and promotes. PRO for the day was the highly respected and experienced RC sailor Ian Ashe who controlled and managed proceedings and ensured the day ran smoothly.

The single day event saw 16 races completed within the allotted time and a presentation within a half hour of the last race. Well done to the official scores and team of volunteers for their efforts to make the day such a success.
