Vale Ian Lobley
The QRYA committee was very saddened to hear of the recent passing of Ian Lobley. His significant contribution to the sport was a shining example to all. He was the QRYA Treasurer from 2017 to 2021 and created one of the largest collections of radio yachting videos with his YouTube channel. It is with much regret that I must inform you all of the passing of Ian Lobley. Ian has been ill for some time and passed away Monday morning. At this stage we believe that the family will be having a private funeral. Ian joined our club in January 2016 and almost straight away became involved in the committee assisting in running the club. He was also responsible for setting up the club website and YouTube channel.
He also spent some years as treasurer of the QRYA. He spent many hours attending events compiling videos for all to enjoy. He will be sadly missed. Thanks Ian, for all that you have done for the club and the QRYA.
